Pawan Sehrawat Gets Support from Manpreet Singh After PKL 12 Exit.

Haryana Steelers coach Manpreet Singh voiced support for Pawan Sehrawat after Tamil Thalaivas released the Indian captain for disciplinary reasons in PKL 12. Sehrawat, an Arjuna Awardee with 1,340 points in 142 games, had led Bengaluru Bulls to the Season 6 title and India to Asian Games gold. Tamil Thalaivas cited poor discipline despite his 22 raid points in three matches.

After the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 faced a major controversy, Pawan Sehrawat, captain of the Indian national team and Arjuna Awardee, was released by Tamil Thalaivas for alleged disciplinary reasons. The decision, announced on September 12 via the team’s Instagram, did not provide detailed explanations. Sehrawat had participated in all matches of the season before being sent home, scoring 22 raid points in three games, including one super raid but no Super 10s.

Haryana Steelers head coach Manpreet Singh spoke out against the move, highlighting Pawan’s contributions to Indian Kabaddi, including guiding India to gold at the 2022 Asian Games and winning the Season 6 title with Bengaluru Bulls. Manpreet questioned the rationale behind removing such a high-profile player mid-season, emphasizing that Pawan could have delivered even more for Tamil Thalaivas if allowed to continue. Sehrawat responded on social media, denying any indiscipline and affirming his professionalism.

He stated that he would quit Kabaddi if the allegations were proven true and expressed disappointment that his Season 12 ambitions were disrupted due to management issues. Purchased for ₹59.5 lakh in the auction and named captain, Pawan’s abrupt exit has sparked reactions from other PKL figures, including Rahul Chaudhari and commentator Sunil Taneja, who have called for more transparency in team decisions.
