To have the best mystery spinner, left-arm wrist spinner, and all-format pacer in the world at the moment in one team would be a dream come true most teams, but is the reality for India. Yet, Sahibzada Farhan showed form goes out of the window in big games with a brilliant counterattack on Sunday.

Sahibzada Farhan celebrated his half-century with his trademark celebration for Pakistan against India in Dubai on Sunday

Pakistan seemed to turn a new leaf against India in their opening Asia Cup Super Four encounter on Sunday as they pummeleld their way to 91/1 in 10 overs after being asked to bat first, a marked difference from the 49/4 they posted in the round one clash against their arch rivals. The destructor-in-chief for the Men in Green was swashbuckling opener Sahibzada Farhan, who smashed his way to a 34-ball half-century on the back of five boundaries and three maximums. Apart from the sheer numbers, what made the knock immensely special is the way the batter took on the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, and Varun Chakaravarthy -- three bowls with exceptional pedigree and in sensational form.

Farhan's attack began by taking two fours off Bumrah in the fourth over before repeating the antics in the final over of the powerplay to subject the quick to his worst ever powerplay performance in Indian colours. In between, Farhan also managed to take a four off Varun but the real accelaration came a couple overs later. Farhan first danced down the track against Varun in the eighth over, dispatching him for a six over long-on before targetting the same area against Kuldeep the very next over for another maximum. The biggest of hits though came against Axar Patel in the 10th over, when Farhan latched onto a short length delivery by clearing his leg and hammering the ball once again in the long-on region to bring up his half-century, which was followed by his trademark 'bang bang' celebration.

Twitterati was quick to comment on the performance.
