PBKS vs RCB | Twitter laughs as Kohli's cunning taunt leaves Stoinis giggling

What is sport without banter and what is the Indian Premier League without camaraderie between international rivals. Virat Kohli was quick to tease Marcus Stoinis in Mullanpur on Thursday after a spirited fielding effort from the Aussie, the gesture drawing laughter from multiple Punjab players.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru were set just 102 to chase on Thursday for a place in the IPL 2025 final, against Punjab Kings at Mullanpur in Qualifer 1. Three wickets each from Josh Hazlewood and Suyash Sharma crippled the hosts' batting unit and a resounding boundary from Virat Kohli on the first ball he faced made the match seem a lost-cause for Punjab. Nevertheless, the Indian batter moved past his usual intensity to share a light moment with opposition member Marcus Stoinis.

On the fifth ball of the second over, kohli nailed a cover drive but failed to find the game as Stoinis fielded the Kookaburra to his right and immediately raised his hand to threaten a throw. Kohli, who had never set off for a run thinking the ball would travel the fence, not only refused to flinch at Stoinis' gesture but invited the Aussie to go ahead with a hand gesture. Kohli had very cleevrly realized there was no fielder at fine leg inside the circle or in the deep, and the throw would have led to overthrows unless it hit the stump.

Stoinis, fortunately, was also aware and he simply broke out into a sheepish laugh which left other players on his team smiling too.

That was interesting
