VIDEO | MS Dhoni’s cricket IQ earns India yet another wicket

As absurd as it may sound, there are still some fans who refuse to believe that MS Dhoni has one of highest cricket IQs in the history of world Cricket. Today, the former skipper issues yet another response to all the “haters” by suggesting a field change that immediately resulted in a wicket.

There is hardly an Indian fan who doesn’t remember MS Dhoni effecting a last ball run out to secure a famous win against Bangladesh in the World T20 in 2016. Today, Ravindra Jadeja and Shikhar Dhawan might have combined to dismiss Shakib Al Hasan, but it was all thanks to Dhoni’s genius brain.

Just after Jadeja, who was playing his first ODI match since July 2017, had been hit for two consecutive boundaries, Dhoni walked upto skipper Rohit Sharma and asked him to add a fielder at short square leg. That was all that was needed to end Bangladesh’s biggest partnership of the day.

Shakib decided to go for the sweep and could only loft the ball into the hands of Shikhar Dhawan who had just walked over to square leg. That was the third Bangladesh wicket to go down and handed India the initiative in the first match of the Super Fours.

India seems to have a special affinity for Bangladesh and he proved why he is still considered as  the unofficial captain of the team.
