I was hoping to take some days off and then be ready, but at 31, and after a long clay court season with all of the emotions of Roland Garros, and after speaking to my team and doctor, I have decided my body needs to rest if I am going to be ready to play Wimbledon," he added

The Queen's club championship is a is considered to be a major warmup event before Wimbledon, which is scheduled to be held on July 3.

Nadal has featured in five Wimbledon events from 2006-2011 and has won the 2008 and 2010 title after playing at the Queen's championship.
