SRH vs KKR | Twitter in awe as Sunrisers Hyderabad ride on Klaasen special to end IPL 2025 with massive win

Heinrich Klaasen’s blistering century headlined Sunrisers Hyderabad’s massive 110-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders in their last group match of IPL 2025. His unbeaten knock lifted SRH to 278/3 before Jaydev Unadkat, Harsh Dubey and Eshan Malinga picked up three wickets apiece to sign off in style.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad opening combination of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head justified captain Pat Cummins’ decision to bat first at the Arun Jaitley Stadium as they got off to a whirlwind start against the Kolkata Knight Riders pacers. The pair plundered 20 and 19 runs in the second and third over of the innings as SRH went past the 50-run mark in just the fourth over. The pair scored a combined eight fours and four sixes as SRH raced to 79/0 at the end of the powerplay. With SRH going great guns, Heinrich Klaasen was promoted to number three ahead of Ishan Kishan as Head got to his half-century in 26 balls. The promotion paid rich dividends with Klaasen getting to the job straight away hitting Varun Chakravarthy for three fours and a six off the first seven balls he faced from the spinner. He then smashed 17 runs in Harshit Rana’s third over to bring up his fastest fifty in IPL, off just 17 balls as SRH were looking primed to go past the 300-run mark. Sunil Narine broke the 83-run partnership as he sent back Head for 76. However, Klaasen continued unabated with two sixes each in Narine’s and Varun’s overs before bringing up his century in 37 balls, the joint third-fastest hundred in the history of IPL. His unbeaten 105 off 39 balls, which consisted of nine sixes and seven fours, helped SRH register a huge 278/3 in their allotted 20 overs.
In response, KKR started on a positive note with Sunil Narine hitting three sixes and a four in Pat Cummins’ first two overs before Jaydev Unadkat once again came on top in the head-to-head match-up. He dismissed the southpaw for the fourth time in six matches, outfoxing the batter and going through his defence. The left-arm pacer also accounted for KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane in his next over as KKR ended their powerplay at 59/2. With Eshan Malinga dismissing opener Quinton de Kock in the next over and Harsh Dubey picking up two wickets in his first over, KKR were down for the count at 70/5. From then on there was no looking back for SRH as they skittled out KKR for 168 with eight balls to spare. Though Manish Pandey and Harshit Rana added 52 runs for the eighth wicket in 22 balls, it only delayed the inevitable as SRH ended their IPL 2025 campaign with a massive win. Unadkat, Malinga and Dubey starred with the ball picking up three wickets each as Pandey top-scored for KKR with 37 off 23 balls.
