Gujarat Titans became the first team to secure qualification in IPL 2025, at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, their triumph over Delhi Capitals also ensuring Royal Challengers Bengaluru's progress. The side hunted down 200 with ample time to spare even after KL Rahul struck an unbeaten 112.

Brief score: GT 205/0 (19) [Sai 108*(61), Giill 93*(53); Mustafizr 0/24(3)]  beat DC 199/4 (20) [Rahul 112*(65), Porel 30(19); Arshad 1/7(2)] by 10 wickets

Put in to bat on a green-tinged Arun Jaitley Stadium pitch, Delhi Capitals had a rocky start as Faf du Plessis scratched around for 10 balls before falling for just five. Abhishek Porel’s brisk 30 off 19 and a handy cameo from Axar Patel gave the team some momentum, but the innings truly came alive through KL Rahul. The DC skipper hammered an unbeaten 112 off 65 balls — his first IPL century for the franchise, and notably, making him the first player to score IPL hundreds for three different teams. After bringing up his fifty off 35 balls, Rahul shifted gears dramatically, scoring his last 62 runs at a strike rate above 200. Tristan Stubbs chipped in with a fiery 21 off 10 towards the death, including two sixes, as DC posted a competitive 199/4.

In reply, Gujarat Titans got off to a flying start thanks to Sai Sudharsan, who blazed seven fours and a six in the powerplay. While Shubman Gill played second fiddle early on with a run-a-ball approach, GT were well-placed at 59/0 after six overs. Post powerplay, Gill upped the ante with a slew off sixes, sparing none of Vipraj Nigam, Kuldeep Yadav, or Dushmantha Chameera. His 33-ball fifty was only three balls slower than his compatriot -- enough to motivate Sai to go hard again as he blazed away towards the death to rush twoards the target. In the 18th over, Sai brought up a 56-ball ton -- his second in the IPL -- with a maximum and then finished the game off in similar style to ensure both GT and RCB are through to the playoffs.
