The Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamshala was called off due to floodlight failure. Rain had delayed the start by an hour, but once play resumed, Punjab's openers came out blazing and reached 122/0 in 10 overs before the match was eventually abandoned due to a power outage.

‌The much-anticipated clash between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals got off to a delayed start as rain took center stage in Dharamshala. After an hour-long wait, play finally began with Punjab skipper Shreyas Iyer winning the toss and electing to bat first. The decision proved fruitful as openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh continued their excellent form, racing to 50 without loss in just four overs. Arya, the elegant left-hander, was in sublime touch, striking at an impressive rate of 212, while Prabhsimran played a steady supporting role. The onslaught didn’t stop there. The duo kept the scoreboard ticking aggressively, with Arya bringing up a stylish half-century off just 25 balls. The pair took Punjab to 105/0 by the ninth over, punishing the DC bowlers with a flurry of boundaries. Arya’s dazzling knock came to an end in the 11th over when T. Natarajan dismissed him for a 34-ball 70.

Shortly after, as Iyer joined Prabhsimran at the crease, play was halted again, this time due to a technical failure. A power outage in the area caused one of the floodlight towers at the HPCA Stadium to malfunction, prompting the match officials to intervene.

Following a prolonged delay, match officials made the decision to abandon the game. The BCCI expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to fans in attendance. Additionally, Punjab’s upcoming fixture against Mumbai Indians, scheduled for Sunday, May 11, has been relocated to Ahmedabad.
