Joshna was at 13th place, her previous personal high, until now and her good showings in the Asian team championship in Chinese Taipei, and more recently at the HKFC international in Hong Kong, where she finished finalist, helped boost her rankings. Signficantly, she is the only player who has progressed by two rungs in the top twenty. Joshna now finds herself one place above Annie Au of Hong Kong, whom she had beaten twice in recent times.
Her team-mate Dipika Karthik (Pallikal) also improved her position by a rung to 18th place. The other top twenty Indian, Saurav Ghosal, jumped one place to 17th, despite missing a lot of action in recent times due to an injury break.
