Dipa Karmakar and Sakshi Malik on Forbes Asian under-30 super achievers list

The second Forbes under-30 Asia list features 300 youngsters, 30 each in 10 categories for pushing the boundaries of innovation. India have 53 achievers one the list, second only to China who have 76. 

Karmakar, who was also the first Indian gymnast to compete at the Games in 52 years, was in fourth spot. The 23-year-old became only the fifth woman to pull off the Produnova vault and missed out on a medal by a whisker. Forbes reported the accomplishment by saying, "While she didn't win a medal, she ranked an impressive fourth on her first-ever Olympic outing, missing the bronze by a hair's breadth - 0.15 points."

Malik became the first Indian woman wrestler to win an Olympic medal. Forbes emphasized on the fact that the 24-year-old hailing from Rohtak faced a lot of when she decided to pursue wrestling at the age of 12. The list also includes Sharath Gayakwad. The 25-year-old is India's first Paralympic swimmer, coach and Arjuna award winner.
