Manchester United flop Antony confirmed he rejected Bayern Munich’s offer, which included the chance to play alongside Harry Kane, before sealing a €25m permanent move to Real Betis on deadline day. The 25-year-old winger, out of favor under Ruben Amorim, preferred Betis despite receiving interest from five clubs. He signed a five-year contract.

For the Brazilian winger Antony, the summer transfer window brought a decisive career move as he rejected Bayern Munich’s offer to link up with Harry Kane and instead sealed a permanent switch to Real Betis. The former Manchester United player, who struggled under new manager Ruben Amorim and was relegated to the training group known as the “Bomb Squad,” completed a €25 million deal with Betis on deadline day, signing a five-year contract.

Antony had spent the second half of last season on loan at Betis, where he impressed during a six-month spell. Despite receiving interest from at least five clubs, including German champions Bayern Munich, the 25-year-old confirmed he chose to honor his promise to Betis. Speaking to Spanish outlet El Partidazo, Antony revealed that while Bayern’s approach was genuine, he had already assured Betis of his return, a decision he described as being “95 percent certain.”

With Betis currently placed eighth in La Liga after one win, two draws, and one defeat from their opening four matches, Antony is expected to make his first appearance since signing permanently when Manuel Pellegrini’s side face Levante on September 14. His arrival adds depth and attacking flair as Betis look to build momentum in the new campaign.
