Gyokeres, 26, could be signed for £58.6m–£62.8m (€70m–€75m), making him a more affordable option than Newcastle £100m-rated Alexander Isak. Arsenal are also eyeing Real Sociedad Martin Zubimendi, while exits for Thomas Partey and Jorginho are expected.

When the summer transfer window approaches, Arsenal appear to be intensifying their pursuit of Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres. The club is actively seeking a new forward, with Gyökeres emerging as a key target alongside Newcastle’s Alexander Isak and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško. However, Isak’s £100 million price tag makes Gyökeres a more affordable option, with his reported release clause set between £58.6 million and £62.8 million (€70-75 million).

Newly appointed sporting director Andrea Berta is said to be a strong admirer of the 26-year-old Swedish international, making him a priority in Arsenal’s summer plans. Alongside a striker, the club is also looking to strengthen its midfield, with Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi among the top targets.

To fund these moves, Arsenal is expected to offload several players, with Thomas Partey and Jorginho likely to leave as their contracts expire. Other potential departures include Oleksandr Zinchenko, Reiss Nelson, and Jakub Kiwior. Berta’s arrival has accelerated Arsenal’s transfer strategy, ensuring they remain competitive in the market. With significant squad changes on the horizon, Arsenal is aiming to bolster its squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
