Ahead in the 2025-26 season, Manchester United striker Ethan Wheatley has committed his future to the club by signing a contract until 2028, with an option for an extra year. The 19-year-old, who joined United's academy at age nine, made his senior debut in a 4-2 win over Sheffield United last season and has since featured three more times. Currently on loan at League Two leaders Walsall, Wheatley has struggled for minutes, making just three appearances.

Despite limited game time, Walsall manager Mat Sadler praised Wheatley's dedication, noting his impressive training performances. Wheatley, who signed his first professional contract with United in January 2024, shared his excitement on Instagram, calling it a "proud moment" for his family.

During his United debut, captain Bruno Fernandes attempted to assist him in scoring but was unsuccessful. However, Fernandes remains confident in Wheatley’s goal-scoring potential.

Meanwhile, Manchester United continues to monitor the youngster’s progress as he aims to break into the first team in the future. His story reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to nurturing homegrown talent, as he became their 250th academy graduate to play for the senior team.
