Barcelona have reportedly completed the first part of 19-year-old Roony Bardghji’s medical ahead of a £1.7 million transfer from Copenhagen. The highly rated winger, recovering from a cruciate ligament injury, will join Barcelona’s pre-season tour of Asia. Head coach Hansi Flick believes Bardghji is ready for senior-team action and could debut against Vissel Kobe on July 27.

For the upcoming pre-season, Barcelona have taken a major step by including 19-year-old Roony Bardghji in their plans after the youngster completed the first part of his medical. Signed from Copenhagen for a bargain fee of £1.7 million, thanks to his expiring contract in December as Bardghji is seen as a rising Scandinavian talent and will join the first team on their pre-season tour of Asia.

Barcelona beat several Premier League clubs to secure the winger, who is expected to complete his medical next week. Coach Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco have both approved his involvement with the senior squad right away, despite Bardghji recently recovering from a serious cruciate ligament injury that limited him to just six games in the 2024-25 season. He had previously scored 10 goals in the 2023-24 campaign and has 15 goals in 84 appearances for Copenhagen overall.

Barca’s Asian tour begins with a friendly against Vissel Kobe on July 27, followed by matches against FC Seoul and Daegu FC. Bardghji could also feature in the Joan Gamper Trophy match on August 10 before the La Liga opener on August 16 against Mallorca. His arrival comes after Barcelona’s failed attempt to sign Nico Williams, who renewed with Athletic Bilbao.
