Hattricks in a game of cricket are a very rare moment for any bowler and can be a game-changing moment for the teams. One of these iconic moments was created by Mohammad Nawaz, who took a hat-trick against in UAE T20I tri-series final to put Afghanistan on the backfoot at the Sharjah Cricket Ground.

The final of the UAE T20I tri-series has been a game that has been dominated by the bowlers, with the Afghanistan spin duo of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad creating havoc in the first innings and playing a huge role in restricting the green shirts to a score of 141/8. However, the Pakistan bowlers also gave the fight back and got the Afghanistan batters in a spot of bother as they were restricted to a score of 32/6 in eight overs and the bowler who took the spotlight at the Sharjah Cricket ground was spin-bowling all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz.

Nawaz had already made a vital contribution with the bat, scoring a crucial 25 off just 21 deliveries, and decided to contribute with the bowl as well. The left-arm spinner came into the attack in the last over of the power play where he caught Darwish Rasooli plumb in front of his stumps and got the outside edge of Azmatullah Omarzai in the next delivery. As the wickets came in the last two deliveries of the over, Nawaz had to wait another six balls for his hat-trick, which came in the first delivery of the eighth over as Ibrahim Zadran was stumped by Mohammad Haris with his back foot caught outside the crease. With this, he also becomes the third Pakistan player to take a hattrick in T20I's.

This was a game-defining moment by the all-rounder.
