IPL | Twitter in splits as Hardik Pandya hands a two-in-one offer to former side Gujarat Titans

Six balls constitute an over in the game of cricket, but Hardik Pandya was out to add a new dimension to that during Mumbai Indians’ game against Gujarat Titans in Mumbai. The medium pacer nearly bowled two full overs as he struggled to complete his first over at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.

‌After putting in a below par performance with the bat aggregating 155/8 in their batting essay, Mumbai Indians came out guns blazing to stop the visitors from chasing down the total. And they found some success too, dismissing in-form opener Sai Sudharsan in the second over, for just five runs.

And just as Mumbai were tightening the screws on GT with the batting side crawling to 40/1 after seven overs, skipper Hardik Pandya brought himself on to bowl the next over. After bowling three legal deliveries and conceding six runs, including a boundary, the medium-pacer went astray.

He bowled a wide off the next before overstepping the next one and in the free-hit delivery that followed bowled a wide again. Another crease violation meant that an excellent yorker went in vain with another free-hit to follow and guess what still only three balls were completed with Hardik getting ready to run in for the eighth time this over.

Finally a legal delivery followed but to Hardik and MI’s disappointment the ball flew off Shubman Gill’s blade. But the over was yet to end as the viewers started losing their patience and Pandya conceded another wide before completing with a dot.

Twitteratti was counting and it was 11 balls before Hardik walked away as they were amused whether Hardik gave a two-in-one offer to his former side.
