GT vs MI | Twitter reacts to Hardik’s playful tease as former GT captain gets rid of Gill in Ahmedabad

‌Interesting rules often make a sport interesting, offering numerous narratives for the fans to guffaw over. Hardik Pandya’s move from the Gujarat Titans to the Mumbai Indians was one of the main talking points last season, and the topic reignited after he got the current captain, Shubman Gill, out.

Winning the toss and electing to field first, the new-ball pair of Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar allowed just 30 runs inside the four overs before B Sai Sudharsan and Gill accelerated to make it a 66-run powerplay. Hardik Pandya and Mitchell Santner kept things tight after the field restrictions were lifted, leading to Gill succumbing to the boundary pressure and facing Hardik’s silent banter.

After a short ball and a pace-off delivery to kick off the ninth over, Hardik bowled a pace-on short of a length delivery to Gill. The right-hander intended to pull him but ended up holing out in the deep to Naman Dhir at deep square leg. Following the dismissal, Hardik stood still gazing Gill with a wry smile as the current Gujarat captain trudged off the field. The fact that the former Titans skipper got the better of Gill, crested a fuss in the Twitterverse.

That reaction!

Cold!

Hardik Pandya for you!

Savage!

He is the man!

Haha!

Brilliant from Hardik!
