IPL Final, RCB vs PBKS | Twittter hysteric as Inglis' animated use of dark arts fails to save him

Luck can only take you so far, yet often is the element that decides encounters having the highest stakes. Unfortunately for Josh Inglis, it wasn't on his side in Ahmedabad on Tuesday as despite his best attempts to influence the ball after he hit it, the Aussie had to depart at a crucial juncture.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru brilliantly turned the screws on Punjab Kings in the IPL final to have them dwindle from 72/1 to 98/4 within four overs. Krunal Pandya triggered the collapse with the crucial wicket of the in-form Prabhsimran Singh, as a brilliant change in pace and trajectory deceived the opener and had him hole out after a scratchy knock. However, danger persisted even when RCB was on top with the presence of Josh Inglis on the crease, the Australian having struck four sixes already when Pandya took the ball in hand for his final endeavour in the 13th over. A game changing moment ensued.

Determined to take on the spinner and change the tempo of the encounter, Inglis danced down the track first up against Pandya and with a full-blooded swing connected with the Kookaburra to send it sailing towards long-off. However, the wicket-keeper batter knew as soon as he had struck the ball that he did not manage to get enough as Liam Livingstone watched in anticipation on the boundary lines. Inglis could do little else but signal the ball to travel higher by bobbing his palm up and down, hopping himself simultaneoulsy out of sheer passion.

Even though the antics did not save Inglis his wicket, it was enough to give Twitterati a good laugh.

That was funny!

He was the one there!

He did his job!

RCB won there!

Not today!

LOL! What?

Hahaha!

He did so well today!

YEah he got out!

Haa!
