Harry Brook put his athletic fielding and catching abilities to full use during The Hundred Men’s Competition 2025 game against Welsh Fire. The Northern Superchargers captain sprinted sideways before diving full-length to complete a stunning catch to dismiss Saif Zaib at Headingley in Leeds.

‌Northern Superchargers started their Hundred Men’s Competition 2025 campaign with a dominant eight-wicket win over Welsh Fire at Headingley in Leeds on Friday. Opener Zak Crawley top-scored in the game, smashing four sixes and five fours during his unbeaten 67 off just 38 balls as the Superchargers reached 147/2, in pursuit of 144, with 11 balls to spare.

Earlier, the Welsh side could manage only 143/9 despite an excellent opening stand of 62 between Jonny Bairstow (42) and Steve Smith (29). Spinners Imad Wasim and Adil Rashid, and pacer Matthew Potts all picked up two wickets each for the Superchargers.

Harry Brook had an excellent outing as captain, and with the bat too, scoring an unbeaten cameo of 25 off 15 balls. But his most memorable moment was the stunning catch to dismiss Saif Zaib in the 18th over, bowled by Imad Wasim.

With the score reading 132/6, the left-handed batter stepped out to attempt a big shot and Wasim cleverly bowled on a length outside off-stump, away from the batter’s arc. Saif still went ahead with the shot, playing away from his body, miscuing it over the cover region.

Though the ball looked to land safely in the middle, Brook, who was fielding at extra cover, had other ideas. He sprinted for 10-15 yards sideways before being fully airborne to complete a stunning catch, much to the despair of the batter. The crowd was stunned too, as Brook threw the ball to the umpire and jogged towards the bowler without any expression on his face.

Brook turned Superman for his side to give them another crucial wicket as Welsh Fire collapsed after that.

Stunning Effort!
