Bowlers trying to play mind games to get the batters out of track is a common sight, but Digvesh Rathi was in for a shocker during the ongoing Delhi Premier League. The mystery spinner tried to irk Ankit Kumar before being taken to the cleaners by the opener in a stunning show of power hitting.

‌West Delhi Lions continued their unbeaten run in the Delhi Premier League 2025 season with an eight-wicket win over South Delhi Superstarz at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Opener Ankit Kumar came up with a superlative performance, smashing 96 off just 46 balls to power WDL past the target of 186 in just 15.4 overs.

Ankit hit six sixes and 11 fours during his knock and added 158 runs for the first wicket with Krish Yadav to set the foundation for a rollicking win. Meanwhile, Krish played the perfect foil to Ankit, scoring a 42-ball 67, including nine fours and two sixes.

WDL did a great job earlier in the game to restrict SDS to 185/7 after a belligerent start. Medium pacer Anirudh Chowdhary picked up 3/25 while Manan Bhardwaj had two wickets to push SDS captain Ayush Badoni and Kunwar Bidhuri’s entertaining cameos to the background.

During the chase, Badoni was forced to introduce his trump card, Digvesh Rathi, as early as the third over after West Delhi powered to 23 runs in the first two overs. But Ankit welcomed the mystery spinner with a four and a six to notch up 12 runs in his first over.

Another four in his next over frustrated the bowler as he stopped without delivering after running in for the final ball. The batter was not impressed as he backed out in the next attempt to irk Digvesh, and words were exchanged.

But the best was yet to come as the left-handed batter smashed the Lucknow Super Giants spinner for two huge sixes off consecutive balls when he returned in the 12th over of the innings to bowl his third. Ankit got his moment of revenge as he brought high-flying Digvesh crashing to the ground, gesturing that he smashed him for two sixes.

Ankit gets his revenge!
