West Delhi Lions and Purani Delhi 6 will face each other in the 10th fixture of the ongoing Delhi Premier League 2025, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The Lions will aim to continue their winning run in the tournament’s current edition, with a success against the Purani Delhi 6.
After securing two consecutive wins in their first two matches, the West Delhi Lions will take on Purani Delhi 6 in their next assignment in the tournament’s current edition. In their campaign opener against the East Delhi Riders, Nitish Rana’s men secured a big seven-wicket win in a high-scoring affair as they comfortably chased down the 209-run target, scoring 214/3 in just 17.3 overs. Ayush Doseja crafted this victory for the Lions with his swashbuckling knock of 84 runs off just 48 balls, with 10 fours and two sixes. Later in their second game, Nitish Rana’s men executed another outstanding run chase; this time, the openers, Krish Yadav and Ankit Kumar, led the chase with their heroics. Ankit smashed 96 (46), alongside Yadav’s 67 (42), to help WDL score 189/2 in just 15.4 overs and chase down the 186-run target with 4.2 overs to spare. Now, they will be eyeing winning their third game in a row to move to the top of the points table.
On the other hand, Purani Delhi 6 had a horrific start to their DPL 2025 campaign, facing a massive 82-run defeat against Outer Delhi Warriors in their first game. Purani Delhi 6 were bundled out at the score of just 66 runs in 14.3 overs while chasing the target of 145 runs posted by the Warriors. PD6 batters were trapped in the spin web of star ODW spinner Suyash Sharma. The Vansh Bedi-led side will look forward to forgetting their horrific defeat with a win against the Lions in this game.

Nitish Rana and Co. have been in a brilliant run of form in the tournament, which they displayed in their first two games, with successive wins by the big margins of seven and eight wickets, respectively. They are expected to continue their winning streak with a win against PD6.
Purani Delhi 6 and West Delhi Lions faced each other in two games last year in DPL 2024, and PD6 won both the games to dominate this head-to-head rivalry. In the seventh match of the first edition, Purani Delhi 6 won the game by seven wickets before defeating the Lions by six wickets in the 24th game of the tournament.
Arun Jaitley Stadium has a batting-friendly surface, especially in the second half of the game. Out of the nine games played in DPL 2025 so far, the team batting second has won six games, while the team batting first has won only three games. So, the toss-winning captain might opt to bowl first to chase the target under batting-friendly conditions.
The weather in Delhi on Thursday will be hot and clear with a minimum temperature of 29 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius. There will be no rain threat throughout the entire course of 40 overs.
Purani Delhi 6 might give another chance to their last game’s playing XI, which they fielded against the Outer Delhi Warriors.
The West Delhi Lions are expected to go ahead with their winning combination from the last two games. So, there might be no change in their playing XI against Purani Delhi 6.
PD6 Probable XI: Vansh Bedi (WK/C), Aarush Malhotra, Ekansh Dobal, Lalit Yadav, Dev Lakra, Pranav Pant, Samarth Seth, Aayush Singh, Rajneesh Dadar, Pardeep Parashar, Udhav Mohan, Yug Gupta.
