DC vs GT | Twitter in splits as Rashid Khan scratches his head clueless after a missed catch

Being attentive in the field is a must, and when bowlers don’t get wickets, they need to be sharp with their fielding. But Rashid Khan didn’t follow this against Delhi Capitals as Tristan Stubbs got a lifeline when the Afghanistan veteran missed a catch, leading to a funny reaction from him.

‌Gujarat skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to field first. The Gujarat contingent had a happy start as Arshad Khan scalped Abishek Porel in the second over. But Karun Nair and KL Rahul steadied the innings and took the score to 52/1 in four overs. Just when Rahul was going strong, Prasidh Krishna dismissed him in the fifth over. The troubles continued as Krishna struck again, removing the in-form Karun Nair in the ninth over. With Tristan Stubbs and Axar Patel at the crease, Delhi reached 105/3 at the halfway mark. Stubbs also got a lifeline when Rashid Khan missed a catch, although it wasn’t entirely his to take.

On the fourth ball of the 14th over, Rashid bowled a full and flighted delivery on middle stump. Stubbs went down on one knee looking for another big slog but mistimed it, getting a top edge towards mid-on. Rashid tracked the ball and called for the catch. Long-on ran forward but was too far away, while Rashid got under the ball, got both hands to it, but couldn’t hold on. He then sat on the ground and scratched his head in disbelief, sending the Twitterverse into a frenzy.
