IPL 2024 | Twitter reacts to Harshit Rana silencing critics with 'finger on the lips' moment after scalping KL Rahul

‌If you want to silence the critics, lower your head and do your work. Kolkata Knight Riders' pace bowler Harshit Rana returned to tonight's match against Lucknow Super Giants following a ban in the previous game, and despite taking a wicket he opted for a subdued celebration at Ekana.

Chasing 236 runs, the home team faced an initial setback as their opener Arshin Kulkarni fell early in just the second over of the innings. Nonetheless, KL Rahul and Marcus Stoinis steadied the ship with a resilient 45-run partnership guiding their side to 55/1 by the end of the powerplay. However, Lucknow's fortunes took a turn when their captain departed in the eighth over despite the promising partnership. Unfortunately, Rahul's departure in the same over failed to ignite any fireworks prompting a rather unique reaction from Harshit Rana.

On the third ball of the eighth over Rana delivered a full-length ball to the Lucknow skipper, while Rahul attempted to dispatch it over deep point with a mighty swing of his bat. However, Ramandeep Singh anticipated the trajectory perfectly and snatched an easy catch. With Rahul's dismissal after scoring a modest 25 runs from 21 deliveries, he trudged back to the pavilion, leaving behind a sense of disappointment. Meanwhile, Rana, known for his unconventional 'flying kiss' celebration, opted for a subdued gesture this time, placing his fingers on his lips in a quiet acknowledgment of the wicket.

It's worth noting that Rana had courted controversy with an animated celebration after dismissing Delhi Capitals' batsman Abishek Porel last week, resulting in a one-match ban and a fine of 100% of his match fees. The Twitterverse wasted no time noticing Rana's latest celebration, stirring up mixed reactions across social media platforms.
