CSK vs RCB | Twitter in splits as Jadeja and Kohli hilariously go after each other in a game of tit-for-tat

In a world burgeoning with franchise tournaments, what makes the IPL truly unique is pitting India's premier batters and bowlers against each other. On Friday it was Virat Kohli versus Ravindra Jadeja at Chepauk and the two shared a light-hearted moment between the 22-yard that reflected their bond.

Chennai Super Kings kicked off the 17th season of the Indian Premier League with aplomb by scalping three wickets in the powerplay to leave Royal Challengers Bengaluru reeling at 42/3. The onus unsurprisingly fell on Virat Kohli's shoulders to alleviate the team's burden but the Indian talisman found it difficult to get going on the slow and sticky surface against a world-class spin attack. Ravindra Jadeja emerged as the natural spearhead of the Yellow Army's efforts and with the tension in the game building with each delivery, the veteran attempted to introduce some humour into proceedings through a hilarious moment with Kohli.

On the second ball of the 11th over, Cameron Green pushed an arm ball straight back to Jadeja who fielded it with relative ease. However, as he got back up from a crouched position, the left-arm spinner playfully attempted to strike Kohli's crotch with the Kookaburra. The former RCB skipper dodged the attempt and responded in kind by trying to nudge his national teammate with the bat but ended up failing as well.

Twitterati was quick to offer remarks on the hilarious sequence of play.
