Success may lead to complacency, leading to unprecedented failure at the wrong time. Australian prodigy Sam Konstas, who earned a maiden call-up to the national team for the last couple of Test matches against India suffered a similar fate during the Sydney derby in the ongoing Big Bash League.

Aiming to continue their winning start to the tournament, the Sixers opted to bowl first at the Sydney Showground Stadium against the Thunder. Handing the new ball to Akeal Hosein quite worked with their plans as in-form Sam Konstas fell prey to the Windies’ spinner in the first over itself.

After a couple of dot balls in the first over, Akeal came around the wicket and bowled a length delivery outside the stumps. The ball drifted into Konstas who tried to cut it off the back foot but ended up incurring an inside edge back onto the stumps. Seeing the youngster’s fate change after the national call-up, his bronze duck became the talk of the town in the Twitterverse.

Konstas gone!!
