Kraigg Brathwaite's bowling action cleared by the ICC

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has cleared the bowling action of West Indies all-rounder Kraigg Brathwaite, who is now free to bowl. The Windies opener had been earlier reported for a suspected illegal bowling action during the second Test against India in Kingston last month.
Unlike Sri Lanka's Akila Dananjaya, West Indies' Kraigg Brathwaite has found himself in the good books of the ICC after the opener was cleared of a suspect bowling action by the ICC on Monday. The 26-year-old was reported for a suspect bowling action post the second Test against India in Kingston last month, but has since undergone assessments and has subsequently gotten the green light to continue bowling in international cricket.
"He subsequently underwent a bowling assessment in Loughborough on 14 September, where it was revealed that the amount of elbow extension for all his deliveries was within the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under the ICC Illegal Bowling Regulations," the ICC stated in an official media release on Monday.
The news comes out as a positive one for the Windies, with them all set to play Afghanistan in a one-off Test that will commence next month. Brathwaite has bowled close to 2000 deliveries in Test cricket, picking up 18 wickets in the process including a six-wicket haul against Sri Lanka in Colombo four years ago.
