Reports | Kedar Jadhav set to play in World Cup after passing fitness test

According to a TOI report, Kedar Jadhav has become fit in time to play in the upcoming ICC World Cup in England and Wales starting on May 30. The middle-order batsman had injured his shoulder during Chennai Super Kings’ final league match on May 5 in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League.
Kedar Jadhav had sustained a shoulder injury while diving in an Indian Premier League encounter between Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab on May 5. He had to miss the subsequent playoffs and it came as a huge worry given Jadhav’s importance in the Indian line up for the upcoming World Cup.
The selectors had decided to wait till the last moment before naming a replacement, however, it is now reported by the TOI that the middle-order batsman, who also doubles up as a part-time spinner, is declared fit for the World Cup. The Indian team physiotherapist Patrick Farhart was constantly monitoring the Maharashtra batsman’s injury. Jadhav passed the physio’s fitness test at the MCA’s (Mumbai Cricket Association) Bandra Kurla Complex facility on Thursday morning itself.
The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has approved the decision and the 34-year-old is all set to fly to London with the rest of the team on May 22. India will play two warm-up matches on May 25 and May 28 before facing South Africa in their first fixture of the World Cup on June 5.
