Mohammad Azharuddin has hailed India’s bowling attack going into the World Cup and feels the side are favourites for the quadrennial event, starting May 30 in England and Wales. India have fared well in white ball format in recent times and the 15-man squad looks like a well-seasoned one.

India have one of the deadliest bowling attacks in contemporary cricket and has grown immensely in this department. English conditions will provide some help to the bowlers, and if there is something to offer, Indian bowlers can wreak havoc. Azharuddin also stated the same and asserted that India have a very balanced team for the World Cup in England and Wales, especially the bowlers.

“We have a very good chance. We have a very good team. We have very good bowlers. Lot of people are saying if the wickets are favouring the bowlers, we will find it difficult. But even our bowlers can also get the opposition out. We have got world-class bowlers. We have a very good team. I will be very disappointed if they don’t win,” Azharuddin said, reported PTI.

India’s pace attack hails of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya. They all have substantial experience on their shoulders and have proved their worth with the white ball. Azharuddin has named India as favourites followed by England and Australia.

“I think so. India, I think are number one, second England, third Australia. Because, in cricket, you never know. Anything can happen. The team who plays well on a particular day, always wins. There are going to be upsets also, but hopefully not with our team,” said Azharuddin.
