VIDEO | Hardik Pandya top edges a slower ball for a six over keeper’s head

With the king-sized bat, edges are seen sailing over the boundary in contemporary cricket more often than not. Hardik Pandya’s prowess with the bat is well-known, however, on this occasion, he was outfoxed by a slower one but a top edge earned him a much-needed six over third man boundary.

Hardik Pandya has been the reason behind nightmares for many bowlers and has done extremely well with his calculated aggression. India were all set to go all guns blazing after the openers set up a perfect platform. A good start meant Hardik was elevated in the batting order and was given one task – fire on all cylinders. However, he wasn’t getting the timing right and was deceived by slower ones a lot.

On the second delivery of the 43rd over, Hasan Ali bowled a slower one that deceived Pandya who attempted to hit the ball straight but only managed a top edge that sailed all the way for six towards third man boundary. Hardik was in no position to hit the ball and this execution left many bewildered.

Modern day cricket has often this top-edges flying for sixes but a slower one going all the way is a new addition to the list of miracles cricket can produce.
