Sourav Ganguly believes India has better chances of winning against England

According to former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly, India hold a better position in performance as compared to Pakistan which makes India's chances of winning against England more likely. England had lost to Pakistan at Lord's and leveled the series 1-1, after registering a win at Headingley.

India will be playing three T20Is, three ODIs, and five Test matches against England, beginning from July 3rd. While England suffered a humiliating loss at Lord's, losing to Pakistan by 9 wickets, they made a recovery in the Headingley Test, where they won by 55 runs, courtesy of Jose Butler, who gave a man of the match performance.

India, however, in South Africa established it's rapport as a strong team, winning 5 out of 6 ODIs and 2 out of 3 T20Is. And even though RCB could not do much in this IPL, Virat Kohli had some great strokes to deliver. Owing to this, India's chances of winning against England seems quite high in the upcoming series. Sourav Ganguly is also hopeful and believes that India will be the favourite to win the upcoming series.

“India are a far better side than Pakistan. India will have better chances of winning the series," Ganguly told PTI.

“I'm very hopeful that India will win in England. The way they have played the ODI series in South Africa, if they are able to hold back the momentum, they will absolutely win,” he made further inputs to PTI.

On Virat Kohli’s achievement of Best Cricketer award by the BCCI for two consecutive seasons, Ganguly mentioned that he should continue playing the way he has been and shouldn't be worried for anything else.

“He's nearing 30 and has another six-seven years... He just has to keep playing and don't worry about anything,” Sourav has mentioned to the PTI.
