The Supreme Court of India reportedly issued a notice to the Indian cricket board after S Sreesanth registered an appeal against the life ban which was imposed by the BCCI. A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice AM Khanwilkar, and Justice DY Chandrachud asked the BCCI to respond in 4 weeks.

Sreesanth’s lawyer informed about the appeal and the Chief Justice of India agreed to hear the case on February 5. The Kerala cricketer received a life ban by the Indian cricket board in 2015 for his involvement in the corruption during the 2013 Indian Premier League. He was part of the Rajasthan Royals franchise when he charged with spot-fixing.

However, in 2016, he received a clean-chit from a special court in Delhi. The player had asked the BCCI to remove the ban which forced him to appeal to the High Court.

Sreesanth stands against the Kerala High Court who restored the life ban imposed on him by the board as he was told by the court to stay away from all format of the game. Now the CJI accepted his request and gave four weeks to the Indian cricket board to register their response.

It is also expected that the 34-year-old urged the Supreme Court to disclose the names of the 13 persons who involved in the case which was indicated by the Mukul Mudgal committee.
