SRH are, reportedly, upset over umpire’s decisions to not award them a genuine no-ball and they think that it could have been a game changer for them. SRH skipper, Kane Williamson, who didn’t make any fuss when the actual event happened, has mentioned the error in the captain’s report of the match.

Chennai Super Kings won a thrilling match by 4 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. With both teams fighting it out till the last, the match was full of ups and downs. There were magical performances from players of both the teams. However, it the performance of the umpires, specifically Vineet Kulkarni, that came under the scanner.

On the second ball of the 17th over of the match, an above waist full toss was bowled, which umpire Vineet Kulkarni, who was the leg umpire at the time, didn’t think was a no-ball. Surprisingly, he didn’t even consider checking it the third umpire which left Kane Williamson, who was the batsman at the time shocked.

Eventually, SRH fell short of the target by four runs, which further increased the impact of the error. The hosts would have got an extra run and a free hit, which could have been a game changer for them.

According to reports of TOI, SRH team was hugely upset by the decision and have mentioned the error in the captain’s report.

“Even the SRH players were quite disturbed about the fact that the umpire missed out on a genuine no-ball. There is no denying the fact that errors happen, but when there is technology available, the umpires should take help in case of doubt. This is happening too often in IPL,” a source said to TOI.

The reports of TOI also mention that the SRH team manager had a chat with the match referee Sunil Chaturvedi right after the match, but didn’t reveal what happened transpired. On mentioning the error in the captain’s report, the source said, “If such an error goes unnoticed, it has to be mentioned by someone.”
