Bangladesh continued their horror show on the field as Mushfiqur Rahim missed an easy stumping chance to dismiss India’s wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha. Saha was completely out of the popping crease when Rahim received the ball, but the Bangladesh skipper failed to whip off the bails in time.
Virat Kohli continued his incredible run of form and slammed yet another century to frustrate the visiting team, who have traveled to India for the first time to play a Test match. Seemingly frustrated on the field, their disastrous fielding have made matters even worse for the visitors.
In the 118th over of the innings, Saha came down the track to hit left-arm spinner Taijul Islam but didn't get anywhere near the pitch of the ball. Rahim, who was keeping wickets, just a meter or two away had the perfect chance to dislodge the bails to claim Saha’s wicket. But, he made a mess of it and completely missed the stumps on the first go. On the second attempt, when he whipped the bails off, Saha's bat was already inside the crease.
The on-field umpires referred the decision to the third umpire, who had a simple decision to make as he turned down the appeal. India went for lunch on Day 2 with the score at 477/4.
