Ashes 2017 | Australia set to host first day-night Ashes Test

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has reportedly agreed to play a day-night Test during the Ashes tour of Australia next year. Adelaide Oval, which has hosted two day-night Tests, has been picked as a possible venue for the pink ball Test between the game’s oldest rivals.
The day-night Tests against New Zealand and South Africa turned out a commercial success, attracting large numbers owing to the timings. Meanwhile, Gabba will host its first day-night Test against Pakistan later this month.
“The concept of day-night Test cricket is to put fans first and make the game more accessible for people to come after work or school. More than 125,000 people attended the third Commonwealth Bank day-night Test match in Adelaide this year and there has been great anticipation about future day-night Tests,” Cricket Australia said on its official website.
“We have two day-night Tests this year and ongoing scheduling of day-night Tests in the Australian summer is a natural progression. The Ashes is a great contest and attracts huge audiences both at the ground and on television, but nothing has yet been confirmed for next summer."
The 2017 Ashes are provisionally scheduled to start on Nov 23.
